Disagreeable breath odour, scientifically known as halitosis, happens to nearly everyone at one time or another. It could be the result of a number of causes. Eating specific foods such as garlic or onions could give one bad breath. Other causes include poor dental hygiene, cavities, smoking, gum disease, throat or sinus infections, abscessed or impacted teeth, indigestion, gastritis, constipation, insufficient sleep, or large doses of vitamin supplements. Lung diseases such as pulmonary tuberculosis or lung abscess could effect disagreeable breath odor as well. Bad breath is also an occasional side effect of taking large dosages of insulin.
Bad breath that results from eating garlic or onions usually dissipates in a few hours. Lingering bad breath from eating these foods usually signals a digestive disturbance that allows odors from these foods to reach the breath.
Continuous bad breath usually signals a bacterial infection in the mouth or digestive tract. While bad breath from oral infections can be masked, those that are produced by infection with Helicobacter pylori, the germ that causes gastritis and peptic ulcers, does not go away unless the infection is controlled. Herbal treatments can subdue this and other infections that cause bad breath.

Pearlie White TEETH
If you’re looking to add more shine to your smile, teeth whitening can be one solution. With a plethora of teeth whitening products and the constant advent of new teeth whitening methods, you too, can have a set of dazzling pearlie whites.
Alcohol, smoking, tea and coffee are some of the common foods that play havoc on out teeth. Other factors like the aging process and also play a factor in the discoloration of teeth. As such, the teeth whitening process seeks to whiten teeth by removing as much stain as possible. As new teeth whitening products are constantly popping up in the market, the real difficulty is in determining which treatment works best for you.
Laser teeth whitening, over-the-counter whitening kits and even tooth whitening toothpaste are some options. Over the counter products usually make use of some form of peroxide to remove the stains and facilitate bleaching. These products, however, take a longer time to work as the active agent is considerably lesser. Dentist-administered products such as whitening gel treatment, on the other hand, work faster and last longer as they contain a higher concentration of the active agent.
The most effective treatment, though, is most likely to be laser teeth whitening. This method utilizes laser light to gently apply a specialized whitening gel onto the teeth. The laser will ensure that the gel is spread evenly over the teeth. With this method, a single visit is sufficient to leave you with a brilliant white smile.
Be warned though that teeth whitening may not be for everyone so it is best to get a professional consultation to know which treatment is suitable for you.
