American Ginseng (Huaqi Shen)

Commonly known as Si Yangshen, Paoshen which is cooling and revitalising and considered a Yin tonic. It influence the heart, kidney and lung channels. Replenishes fluid, tonifies Yin and Qi and clears fire from the lungs. Commonly used to treat weakness after recovery from long illness, prolonged cough, loss of voice and dry throat. It is ideal for people with a busy lifestyle, fatigue and irritability, smokers. Place slices of American Ginseng in boiling water for 30 mins and keep warm in a thermos flask for drinking or place 8 to 12 grams in water and double-boiled for 2 to 3 hours.

Chinese Ginseng (Ren Shen)

Commonly known as Chang Baishen which is warm and revitalising and considered a Qi tonic. Wild Chinese ginseng revitalises the ancestral energy known as Yuan Chi, an inherent energy source in the body. Chinese ginseng also tonifies the lungs and relieves mental stress. It also improves digestion, calms the mind, sustains alertness and restores strength and energy levels after illness. When taken regularly, wild ginseng keeps the body in good health and is believed to promote longevity. It is suitable for people with anaemia, weak heart, exhaustion, menstrual problem from lack of Qi or blood and nervous or emotional disorders. Double-boil 4 to 12 grams or as prescribed by physician.

Korean Ginseng (Gaoli Shen)

Commonly known as Beizhi Shen which is warm and most invigorating and considered a Qi tonic. Korean ginseng has the strongest invigorating properties among all ginseng. It promotes Qi and blood circulation throughout the body. It strengthen lungs and spleen, increase nutritive fluids, sustain mental alertness, restores energy and improves appetite. Very effective in helping elderly and convalescents regain lost energy and build up physical strength. For women who have suffered heavy loss of blood after childbirth, shortness of breath, irritability and over-perspiration. Double-boil in water with chicken/pork.

Bird's Nest

Commonly known as Yanwo and it is neutral and influences the lungs, stomach and kidney channels. Nourishes the nutritive fluids, improves the appetite and clears the complexion. Bird's nest commonly used to aid recuperation from debilitating illness and treat loss of appetite in children, prevent internal dryness and for rejuvenation theray.

Chinese Angelica Roots (Danggui)

It is warm and influences the heart, liver and spleen channels. It nourishes the blood, regulates menstruation, removes colds, unblocks bowels, reduce swelling, expel pus and reduces pain. Commonly used to treat paleness due to blood defiency, blurred vision, improve blood circulation, keep the body warm, menstrual problem, traumatic injury, constipation and skin problem.

Cordyceps (Dongchong Xiacao)

It is warm and influences the lung and kidney channel. Tonifies the Yang, nourishes the essence, reduces phlegm and stops bleeding. Commonly used to treat impotence, weakness in the knees and lower back, chronic cough and wheezing.

Eucommia Bark (Duzhong)

It is warm and influences the kidney and liver channels. It strengthens the sinews and bones and enhances Qi and blood circulation. Commonly treated for pain in the lower back and knees, fatigue, frequent urination, dizziness, bleeding during pregnancy, overactive foetus and agitation during pregnancy.

Gastrodia (Tianma)

It is neutral and influences the liver channel, settles erratic wind, unblocks stagnation, controls tremors and alleviates pain. Commonly used to treat childhood convulsions, migraine, dizziness, numbness in the lower back.

Notoginseng Root (Tianqi)

It is warm and influences the liver, stomach and large intestine channels. It stop bleeding, reduces swelling and pain. Commonly used to treat nosebleeds, accident injuries, fractures and heart problems. Known also to treat slow growth in infants.

Apricot Seed (Xingren)

It is warm and influences the lung and large intestine channels. It stop cough and moistens the intestines. Commonly used to treat cough and constipation.

Arhan Fruit (Luohan Guo)

It is neutral and influences the lung and spleen channels. Moistens the lung and dissolve nodules. Commonly used to treat hacking coughs and phlegm nodules in the neck.

Astragaluw (Huangqi)

It is warm and influence the lung and spleen channels. Helps to reduce water retention and encourges the discharge of pus. Commonly used to treat fatigue, diarrhoea, spontaneous sweating, severe loss of blood, chronic sores and paralysis.

Black Sesame Seed

It is neutral and influences the liver and kidney. Helps to tone the liver and kidney, nourishes the blood, extingushes wind and relieves dryness. Commonly used to treat dizziness, headaches and constipation.

Black Wood-Ear Mushroom (Hei Mu Er)

It is neutral and sweet and influences the stomach and large intestine. Commonly used to cool the blood, stop bleeding, moisten dryness and treat constipation.

Cnidium (Chuanxiong)

It is warm and influences the liver and gall bladder and activates the blood and Qi. Helps to reduce pain and expels wind and commonly used to treat menstruation problems, skin problems and all forms of headache.

Codonopsis Root (Dangshen)

It is neutral and influences the lung and spleen channels. Tone the lung and nourishes fluids. Commonly used to treat lack of appetite, fatigue and weakness, diarrhoea, vomitting, shortness of breath and thirst.

Fleeceflower Root (Heshou Wu)

It is warm and influences the liver and kidney channels. Nourishes the essence and blood, stabilizes the essence, neutralize toxins, moistens the intestines and expels wind. Commonly used to treat vision problem, premature greying of hair, weak knee, premature ejaculation, neck lumps and skin rashes.
