Traditional Chinese Recipes for Improving Milk Flow in Lactation (for breast-feeding mum)

Longan and Red Dates Tea
10pcs of Dried longan flesh
10-20 of Dried red dates (seeds removed)
4-5gm of Tang-kwei (Angelica Sihensis) (optional)

Method
Boil and simmer ingredients in 4-5 cups of water for 45 mins
to an hour until liquid is fragrant and tasty.
Drink throughout the day.


Lettuce with Rice Wine
200gm of Lettuce leaves
30-50cc of Chinese rice wine
Some meat stock

Method
Cook lettuce briefly in a little soup.
Add salt and rice wine.
Eat both soup and lettuce.





Fish Head and Green Papaya Soup
200gm of Green (unripe) or semi-ripe papaya
1 no. of Fish Head eg. Carp, Snakehead, Seabream, Pomfret or Kurau fillet
1 slice of Ginger

Method
Simmer fish together with pieces of papaya and ginger for 2 hours or till soft and appearance milky in colour.
Remove bones before serving.


Black Sesame Seed or Rice Pudding or Porridge,
200gm of Black Sesame Seeds
30gm of Rice or as desired
Some Rock Sugar

Pudding
Blend soaked rice and sesame seeds into paste.
Cook into thin gruel with sufficient water

Porridge
Cook rice porridge.
Blend sesame seeds and add to rice.
Add rock sugar to taste.






Peanut and Papaya Soup
750gm of papaya
150gm of Peanuts
Big Dates 5 pieces
8 bowl of water
Rock sugar

Method
Peel the papaya skin, remove the seeds and cut into pieces.
Put papaya, peanuts, big dates and 8 bowl of water in a pot and bring to boil.
Change to low fire and simmer for 2 hours.
Add rock sugar to taste and ready to serve.


Kidney fried with lily flower
200gm of kidney (cleaned and sliced)
20gm of dried lily flower (golden needles)
few slices of giner
some vegetable oil
dash of rice wine

Method
Stir fry kidney slices in oil with ginger.
Add lily flowers and seasoning.


Oxtail soup (Cantonese Style)
500gm of Oxtail, muscle or tendon
2 pieces of fresh red chillies
1 cup of red or black beans
1 slice of ginger
6 bowls of water

Method
Slow cook all ingredients for 4 hours.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Take it about 6 times a day.
